Guidelines: Hiphop Dance Contest



GUIDELINES:

1.    Competing dancers must be bonafide college students of Ateneo de Zamboanga University. Number of participants per college must not be less than 10 participants, but should not exceed 12 participants.

2.    Dance may consist of street funk, "street boys type", "Manouver type", MTV video style jazz techniques and others.

3.    Dangerous props (such as swords, knives, fire, etc.) are strictly prohibited during the competition. General props are allowed, but these must be taken on and off the stage quickly. If the stage is littered during the routine, it is the responsibility of the performers to clean up immediately after the routine is finished.

4.    Early submission of entry is encouraged. All competing groups and their coach-teachers, must register on or before November 21, 2014 (Friday). No entries will be accepted on the day of competition. Please attach to the entry photocopy of students school ID.

5.    All performances must be suitable for family (general patronage) viewing. Displays of violence, social prejudice, or those which are sexually suggestive are deemed inappropriate. In addition, age-inappropriate choreography, costumes and / or music will result to point deduction or disqualification as deemed by the judges.

6.    Taped music must be cued. It is highly recommended that contestants bring back up music in the event of a malfunction of the original CD/Cassette tape submitted.

7.    All routines must be limited to 3-6 minutes. Competing dancers must be ready to perform fifteen minutes prior to their scheduled performance time. If the competition is running ahead of schedule, dancers are expected to perform when called upon.

8.    Costume for dancers will be their academic organization frat shirt. The academic organization has the leeway to design the lower portion of the costume.


9.    Decision of the judges is final. Teacher-coaches, dancers and/or parents are not permitted to discuss scoring, comments or results with judges.

10. A dancer who decides to join the dance competition takes certain incumbent risk. These include, but not limited to, sprains, pulled muscles and broken bones. Thus, participation in this competition indicates acceptance of such risks by performers.

11. Ateneo de Zamboanga University assumes no responsibility for personal injury or property loss.

  1. The contest will be held at the MPCC during on December 01, 2014 (Monday).

  • 30 points = First
  • 15 points = Second
  • 10 points = Third
  •  5 points = Fourth
  •  3 points = Fifth
