Guidelines: Dance Sports Competition

1. 1.     The competition is open to all bonafide students and employees of Ateneo de Zamboanga University. A maximum of two couples per college or academic unit in each Category.

   2.     There are two categories in this competition the Latin-American Discpline (Cha-cha, cha, Rumba, and Jive) and the Modern Standard Discipline (Walt, Tango, and Quickstep).

   3.     The Competing Couples must strictly follow the dress regulations of World DanceSports Federation (WDSF).

   4.     Early submission of entry is encouraged. All competing couples and their coach/teacher must submit their entries on or before November 21, 2014. No entries will be accepted on the day of the competition. Please attach a photocopy of a student school ID.

   5.     In all dances, technique, timing, basic rhythm, togetherness and musicality will take precedence during adjudication.

   6.     Only one (1) foot is allowed off the floor. (No lifting)

   7.     Competing couples must attend the general rehearsal before the competition. (contact the point person for the details)

   8.     Competing couples must be at the venue one hour before the competition.

   9.     Competing couples who join the competition takes certain incumbent risk. These include, but limited to, sprains, pulled muscles and broken bones. Thus, participation in this competition indicates acceptance of suh risks by performers.

   10.  Ateneo de Zamboanga University assumes no responsibility for personal injury or property loss.

   11. The decision of the adjudicators is Final and irrevocable. No competing couple or representative shall contact in any way or manner to any of the adjudicators in connection with critiques or ratings.

   12. The Contest will be held at the MPCC on December 02 (Tuesday).

   JUDGES
   --There shall be three (3) adjudicators in this competition who have been selected by the organizer according to their competence and expertise in the field of ballroom Dancing.
   --The chairman of the adjudicators shall be responsible for the decision concerning ties or any problems over ranks.
